Livestock

The mission of the Livestock Team is to support and promote the ranching and livestock industry on the Gila River Indian Community.  We promote the industry in a way that encourages ranching and agribusiness, while protecting the people, animals and natural resources of the community.

Branding

The Gila River Indian Community’s (GRIC) Livestock Ordinance requires all livestock running on the community to have a registered brand. The brands can be registered with GRIC, or the Arizona Department of Agriculture.

The GRIC Livestock team registers and keeps record of all brands on the community. All brands must be researched by the Livestock team to make sure they do not conflict with an existing brand.

Livestock Inspection

The Gila River Indian Community (GRIC) requires all livestock coming onto the Community to be inspected prior to entering the Community.  GRIC also requires inspection on livestock prior to any change of ownership, any livestock that is going to the auction or to be butchered.

Please visit the Department of Land Use Planning and Zoning and speak with a member of the Livestock team to submit a livestock inspection request.
