BASF/Bayer Crop Science Cotton Seed Facility Lint Bunker and Transformer Project
LUPZ #23-34990/PDT #23-0127
Lint Bunker Project
BASF is replacing the cotton lint bunker for loading trucks with an improved environmental containment. This is to reduce personnel exposure, particulate emissions, and risk of fire from combustible cotton fiber.
The facility is outside of the plant buildings and will require excavation to build new foundations.
Transformer Project
BASF is working with GRICUA to replace and relocate a GRICUA owned transformed from inside the cotton seed facility to a location partially on BASF easement and GRIC lands. This relocation is to meet electrical safety guidelines and avoid a possible fire. BASF will install wiring via an underground duct bank (on BASF d GRIC land) and then via conduit into the BASF facility to resupply power.
The project is owned, operated, and developed by BASF Agricultural Solutions, 890 N Power Road, Bapchule, Arizona 85121
Lease BL 00000082 currently states “Bayer CropScience LP” as Lessee, pending name change.
Project Schedule is to begin January 2, 2024 and complete May 30, 2024. (start date is pending Certificate of Compliance approval)
